Answers to Your Questions, Care You Can Trust

Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you provide care for?

We provide care for patients from birth to age 65.

Do you see men and women?

Yes! Newma provides care for the entire family, including dads. While we specialize in maternal, women’s, and infant health, we also offer comprehensive care for men and general family healthcare.

What is Collaborative Care? Will I or my child always see the same provider?

Newma follows a Collaborative Care model, meaning all providers have access to patient charts and can consult with each other to ensure seamless care.

Dr. Loerzel sees only pediatric patients (birth through high school).

Family Nurse Practitioners provide care for children and adults.

For sick visits, you may not always see your primary provider, but rest assured they will collaborate as needed. If you have a preferred provider, we recommend scheduling in advance.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept a variety of insurance plans to ensure access to care:

In-Network: Aetna, Anthem BCBS (select plans – call to confirm), ChampVA, Colorado Medicaid & CHP+, Multiplan, Tricare West Select (Active Duty, Reserve, and Retired), Triwest VA CCN, United Healthcare (select plans – call to confirm).

Health Sharing Plans: We treat health-sharing plans (such as Christian Healthcare Ministries or Medi-Share) as self-pay. We can provide receipts and a superbill for reimbursement.

Out-of-Network: Cigna (application in progress), Humana, Kaiser (application in progress).

Don’t see your insurance? Call us at (719) 741-6113 to check your coverage.

Is lactation care covered by insurance?

We process lactation services through insurance, but co-pays and deductibles still apply. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend checking with your insurance provider before booking an appointment. Self-pay options are also available.

Do you offer same-day or walk-in appointments?

We keep a limited number of same-day sick visit appointments available each day. Other visits, like well visits, depend on availability. Walk-ins are discouraged. Please call ahead to check for openings.

Do you offer virtual or telehealth appointments?

Not at this time, but we hope to offer telehealth services in the future!

What is your immunization policy?

We do not provide in-house vaccinations, but we offer education on immunizations during well visits. If you choose to vaccinate, we’ll provide information on where to obtain vaccines through local health departments. Newma can also provide vaccination records upon request.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

To ensure a smooth check-in process, please bring:

Insurance card

A list of medications and supplements you are currently taking

Arrive 30 minutes early to complete any remaining paperwork, forms, or consents.
